UPDATE - JUNE 18TH 2013 10.30AM
The severe weather conditions that have hit parts of the South Island in the last few days have caused serious flood damage which has closed the main trunk line between Christchurch and Timaru, and between Dunedin and Invercargill.
At this stage the main south rail line on these sections is under water and may remain closed for the remainder of the week.
All roads south of Oamaru are closed and at this stage we are awaiting an update as to when these may reopen.
Further to this, a heavy polar blast is expected from Wednesday to much of the South Island and to parts of the North Island, which again will cause disruption.
Please allow for delays and extended transit times as we deal with these challenging weather conditions.
Your local branch will keep you updated as information comes to hand.
Thank you for your understanding.
